How do I download the games?

To download the Skills Miner Games, you'll need to download the Minecraft Education Edition. https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download

Then download the student and teacher resources. In the folder you will find the game file, Teacher Notes & Worksheets. We also recommend you watch the video tutorial on this page before you play each game.

Do you collect my game data and what do you do with it?

We will collect game data because we are interested in how far players get in the game and how long they spend there. We also track how many players go from the game to our website to look at our information on Engineering careers. We have some optional in game surveys where we ask what you enjoyed about the levels. You don’t have to answer these but it helps us to improve the game if you do.

Do you collect any data about me?

We won’t collect any personally identifiable information when you play Skills Miner. That means we won’t collect your name, email address, home address or date of birth. There is an optional in game survey which asks for some more general information about you. We ask for your age, gender and ethnicity because the aim of Skills Miner is to make sure we have a game for everyone and if for some reason we don’t then we can work to do better. We can’t trace this information back to you as it doesn’t include anything personally identifiable.

Do I need a license to play the Skills Miner games?

I can't download the Skills Miner world.

Check that you are on the most recent version of Education Edition Minecraft Official Site | Minecraft/ https://www.minecraft.net/en-us

‍Worlds are only compatible if on the same version of Education Edition so this should be a check that teachers do if they are struggling to access Skills Miner.
